Dear Chamber Member,
2011 was a busy year for your Chamber of Commerce. As the year comes to a close, we feel it’s a good time to provide an update on our activities. While our focus centered on the oil and gas industry over the last few months of the year, there were other accomplishments as well. Highlights include:
- • 80 new members
- • Completion of 45 Synchronist Surveys with area manufacturing companies
- • Quarterly meetings with the Manufacturers Roundtable
- • Tuscarawas County Chamber Community Business Expo
- • Assisted in development of the Potential Oil and Gas Opportunity Committee
- • Pursued economic development opportunities in partnership with the CIC of Tuscarawas County, the Tuscarawas County Port Authority and the Tuscarawas County Office of Community and Economic Development
- • Developed plans for a regional education/economic development summit
- • Plan, Prepare & Protect Disaster Preparedness Workshop
- • Hosted three legislative luncheons including an appearance by Gov. John Kasich
- • Two “Meet the Candidate” night events
- • Held eleven Business After Hours events
- • Active Participation with the New Philadelphia Business and Community Association and the Sugarcreek Business Association
- • Conducted a total of 21 ribbon cuttings at area businesses
- • Annual Golf Outing at Oak Shadows Golf Course
- • New chamber membership directory and Visions magazine
