The Employment Source
The Employment Source is a workforce development and job training one-stop center that offers assistance to both job seekers and employers. The Employment Source is a service made possible through funds provided by the U.S. Department of Labor and implemented locally by the Workforce Investment Board, the Tuscarawas and Stark County Commissioners and the Mayor of the City of Canton.
The Employment Source takes an active role in working with local economic development and chambers of commerce for business attraction, retention and expansion efforts in both Tuscarawas and Stark counties. We offer employers many incentives that include recruiting qualified job seekers, screening and referral, listing job openings on a statewide database, meeting affirmative action and federal contractor requirements, maximizing work opportunity tax credits, free advertising and recruiting professionals both locally and nationally.
Our On-The-Job Training Program operates on the premise that employers make the best trainers for the jobs specific to their industry, and provide the best training sites – the place where the job will be performed. It aids employers in defraying up to 50% of the wages paid to an employee during the training program.
JobFit is an online assessment tool designed to help employers hire and retain employees, resulting in new hires that fit the environment and culture of an organization and are best fit for the job.
In addition, The Employment Source is partner agencies working together at one location to assist job seekers with their employment and training needs. Customers can come into our facilities and use a wide array of equipment, attend job search workshops, locate information on training and much more. There are no income requirements, age limits or restrictions. If you have the desire to work we can help. All services are provided at no cost.
