Business Education/Partnership
This committee of business and education leaders develops programs to enhance and promote understanding between employers and educators and to prepare Tuscarawas County Students for the workplace.
Partnership projects include seminars for students and educators, school visits by business leaders, business visits by students and the recognition of outstanding educators.
- We believe that the schools of Tuscarawas County are encouraging their students to be aware of, and to prepare for the challenges of a new century, including changes in the kinds of jobs available to them and the skills necessary to perform them.
- We believe that community and business involvement will significantly increase opportunities for the children of Tuscarawas County to understand how their skills and achievements relate to a national and global economy.
- We believe that all partners in education - school, parents, business and community - must work together to increase opportunities for Tuscarawas County's students.
- Educator of the Year
- This honor showcases dedicated educators in our area. Through a rigorous process, one educator is selected each year and honored at the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce annual banquet.
- Tuscarawas County High School Leadership Award
- This award recognizes one senior student from each high school in Tuscarawas County. The High School Leadership Award honors the student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, good citizenship and service to the shool and community. Each school is responsible for selecting its Senior Leaders based on these criteria. Recipients receive an engraved plaque and a $50.00 gift certificate.
- Superintendent visits the Chamber of Commerce
- To ensure ongoing dialog between the Chamber of Commerce and School Administrators. Each month a Superintendent is invited to the Chamber of Commerce Board meeting. Superintendents have an opportunity to inform the Chamber about their curricula and progress.
